Just want to make a minor correction to stmhoeing you brought up.When Riddick is released from the super gravity deal (after having his brain scanned) it's by the Furyan Necromonger the one that later urges Riddick to kill Lord Marshall before killing himself. Releasing Riddick was an act of defiance on his part. The Necromonger soldiers were supposed to hop down and kill a helpless Riddick.Given that they were in what is, presumably, a very sensitive/important room, it makes sense that they don't just shoot him from above (and potentially damage their important shit) when they think he can't retaliate or escape.

What a trip from the past, reading about Bogey! Thanks for the memories, will have to rewatch these classics, been too long. Wish I could write a male character like him, he held such power on the screen. I agree, the Maltese Falcon should have been on that list. A personal favorite :-)
Thanks for an interesting blog, Yas!

Terrific post. As a full-time freelancer I have a lot of writing projects going on at the same time, in various stages of completion. Your ideas are a sound way to keep on top of things. Another thing I do is work from a color-coded palate. I assign colors to different writing projects, so if I'm looking for a particular fiction project, for example, I know to look for "yellow" folders, notebooks, Post-it Notes, highlighters, etc. For nonfiction projects on-deadline, they each have their own colors, too. That way I don't have to do anything but scan my work area for the correct color. I don't just use the color either. For example, I'll use floral folders in different shades of the same color to denote specific parts of a project--that way I have definition within my definition, and I still only have to look for one color.

What a great post, Yasmine! I have to agree with you. You need to have all the writing ingredients handy. What a very cool way to look at it. You've inspired me to try and get into a proper routine and survey my desk before I start writing. And I need to kick that phone out! lol

Thanks for this wonderful post! You rock!!
