INSPIRATION FOR MONDAY, JUNE 12

June 12, 2006 | Inspiration

I promised I was going to post three inspiraitonal quotes each day this week. Let’s get started.

1. Proscrastination is the fear of success. People proscrastinate because they’re afraid of the success they know will result if they move ahead now because success is heavy. It carries a responsibility with it. It’s just so much easier to proscrastinate and live on the “Someday I’ll …” philosophy. – Denis Waitley

2. Never pick a fight with a man who has the words “Born To Die” tattooed on his forehead.” – Dean Koontz

3. Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. – Winston Churchill

  1. Yasmine: Got to say, I’m going with the Koontz quote.

Haven’t you observed a verbal/written battle where it was clear that “winning” was all the combatants cared about? Since I’ve joined writers’ groups, I’ve seen this dynamic more than once–especially between two men. They are so busy thinking of what they’re going to say next, that they don’t even “hear” what is being said to them. When I get anywhere near this kind of a fight, I run and run fast.

  2. LOL! So true, Maya. Try playing a tennis match next to guys!!! They all think they’re Federer or Nadal or MacEnroe. You can smell the testerone. When they’re going for a ball and it ‘happens’ to bounce in the direction of the court you’re on, and you’re playing, they have no problem racing onto your court to return it.
